Broken Cable on Upper HDD

While trying to change the upper HDD out I broke one of the two 2-Wire cable connecters. I was going to purchase the second disk installation kit but I don't see that either of the 2-wire connectors are on the harness in this kit.

If i buy Product code: IF171-005-1

Apple Part #: 922-9560, 076-1391

Will this work for what I need?

Hi There,

The connector you have broken is for one of the HDD thermal Sensors.

Your Mac should run fine without it connected; but the fan will probably run at full speed. You can run a piece of software to compensate - either HDD Fan Control (paid for software) or Macs Fan Control (free software) and this will allow you to over-ride and use the HDD SMART thermal sensors instead.

I hope this helps,

Yours,

Duncan
