Hardened chocolate in speakers - how to get out

I had a piece of wrapped chocolate in my shirt pocket and my iPhone 4s in the same pocket. The chocolate melted and covered the speakers on the bottom of the phone. After cleaning as much of the hardened chocolate from the speakers as possible, I do get some sound from both speakers but just very low volume even with the volume turned all the way up. Any suggestions for cleaning the speakers (other than replacing the enclosure)?
