Why is my phones home button going off at random times

Recently I got a lifeproof for 70$ off of their site. I decided to use it in Mexico, but after about a minute in the pool, water got into it. I took it out and let it air dry. After about an hour of airdrying I decided to check it out. Everything was good except the home button didn't work. I put it in rice, let it dried, turned my home button and all the other home button fixes. None of them worked, but after a night sitting around it worked! I got happy and decided to use it just to realize that the home button would go off into Siri, the list of open apps, go home, and take screenshots sometimes when I pressed the power button. I am not near an Apple Store or any repair store. I need help to fix this problem with my phone. How do get rid of these random presses?

Sounds like you have some water damage the the home button connector area. If the corrosion is on the flex cable itself, replacing the button may fix it. Otherwise you're going to need to clean the connector or logic board.

If you're comfortable opening your iPhone, go ahead and take a look for any signs of corrosion or water damage.

There is nothing you can do to stop the random presses. The home button either needs to be cleaned with some 99% isopropyl alcohol from inside the phone or will need to be replaced. This is a common issue when moisture/water gets into the home button area. Take it to a repair shop.
