Mac won't turn on. Not charging properly either

Hi,

My Mac just won't turn. it's a 13 inch air 256gb ssd Early 2014.

I've tried resetting the smc. It did work once and I was able to use it normally for a while. But, after I put it to sleep, it refuses to turn on. It won't even charge. The light on the magsafe is still glowing amber despite being connected for over 8 hours.

There's no response from the device whatsoever. Any advice on how to make it start would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Avi,

Have you tried turning it on with the MagSafe connected? If not, give it a try as it may be a bad battery. Otherwise if it still doesn't work, you might want to try these: If your Mac won't turn on.

Best of luck!

Hi!

Thanks for your response! I've tried turning it on with the magsafe connected, but it still won't turn on. It's completely unresponsive.

If you're comfortable opening your MacBook Air you can use this Guide to disconnect the battery: MacBook Air 13" Early 2014 Battery Replacement and then use this guide to reseat (remove and reconnect) the SSD: MacBook Air 13" Early 2014 Solid-State Drive Replacement after reseating the SSD leave the battery disconnected for at least an hour and then reconnect it and try to power on again afterwards. Also, just to be sure...do you hear a "Chime" or the fan running at all?
