change the HDD in iMac 21.5 mid 2011 and add SSD

I would like to change the 500 GB in the imac 21.5 mid 2011 with a WD 1 TB Black.

And add an SSD Crucial MX200-250GB.

Do i have to buy this cable "In-line Digital Thermal Sensor for iMac 2011 Hard Drive Upgrade" to resolve the problem of speed of fan ?

The fix with HDD fan control software is a solution but not the best...

After first i make a new install of Yosemite on the first partition of SSD and after Bootcamp to install Windows 8.1 on the second partition on SSD. The WD 1TB only to store data.

is that correct ?

Yes! You need the cable for this HD. It allows the SMC services access to an external thermal sensor. And you are correct the software method is not healthy for your system!

As to the SSD:

First you'll need the dual drive kit IFIXIT or what OWC offers. Follow the IFIXIT guide on how to mount the SSD.

As to the partitioning of the SSD, no you don't want to do that if you want to run BootCamp. The BootCamp installer will setup the needed work areas for Windows.

If you want to you could setup a Fusion Drive and let the OS move the files between the HD & SSD for the best performance and less work for you.

I install a SSHD 1 To Seagate (ST4000DX001) instead of the original 500 Go HDD.

The Imac is most faster and installed with BootCamp Windows 8.1. Windows is faster also .

The cable "In-line Digital Thermal Sensor for iMac 2011 Hard Drive" works very well. The speed of fan is controled with thermal sensor.
