vertical dead spot right side of display

I have an iPhone 4S with a dead spot on right side of entire screen, before everybody suggests bad digitizer, I just want to say I tried a few different screens with the same problem I even removed the logic board and put it in a working phone same problem. The problem is at the logic board level and I wanted to see if anybody knows which component is blown so I can replace it, bacause looking under a microscope there isnt anything obvious.

Have you used a meter to check the caps around the touch screen controller? There where I would start to after all the checks you already did.

Options

Check to see if there are any pins (female copper type) missing on connection from the lcd or digitizer. I had a similar problem with an iphone 5C and it was because I lost a few copper pieces from the connection.

Thanks for the effort Mark, but in the post I already mentioned I tried different screens, this is a logic board level problem.

Yeah. I meant on the logic board. There are the copper lining pins on the logic board side too. That's what my problem was.

Everything on the logic board is spotless, I guess start checking things with a meter.

Yeah hate to say it but you'll have to change the digitizer. I know you don't want to but sometimes it's cheaper to fix the one big problem than look at all the little things it could be. Sorry I can't be of any help, but best of luck though!

Have a couple of 4's withte same logic board issue. Did you havr any luck testing caps?
