it worked fine yesterday when i turned it off. im pretty sure the battery was at least half charged. i pushed the button to turn it on today and nothing happens. i plugged in the charger and nothing, not even a light. i know the charger works because i plugged it into my phone to test it.

The charging port on the Kindle Fires come apart very easily. Fortunately it is also a pretty easy repair with a heatgun and heat resistant tape. If the device does not turn on while plugged in, then the charging port is most likely the cause.
