My wife's computer is a Macintosh PowerBook G3, serial number: QT929180EXW. I purchased the Torx #7 size and took out the screws on the back, but I could not pop the back cover off. The power receptacle is loose inside the computer, but I can reach it. Trying to plug it in does not provide power to the computer. The outer rings on the power supply and the power receptacle are fine.

We need to know exactly which iBook you have to direct you to the correct repair manual. Look on the back of your case for a A-xxx number, please. Also please examine the AC adapter plug in to see if the outer ring has been bent out or opened up thus preventing secure contact.
