My computer is frozen and not shutting down
I can't restart, sleep, shut down, log out of even open any applications. What can I do to shut it down

Press and hold down the power button a good minute. That should do it, if not let the system run the battery down.

Dan's answer should work. If doesn't help, take apart the bottom cover and pull the battery plug out. Put it back and close the cover. It should be responsive then after (hoping that everything else is okay). Hope it helps.
