Hi @sevenofnine ,

Have you tried another disc, in case this one is scratched or faulty?

If you have and it still doesn't recognize the disc try cleaning the laser lens in the player.

Here is a link to the ifixit CyberHome CH-DVD 300 Disc Tray Bracket Replacement guide, which will help gain access to the laser lens.

There are videos online that show how to clean a DVD player (or laptop dvd drive- same principle) laser lens using Isopropyl Alcohol 99%+ (available at electronics parts stores) and a Q-Tip.

If the cleaning the lens does not help (and that's Windex or vinegar thing on a Q-tip and dry it with other end of Q-tip - or there are dvd's that are cleaning dvd's but be careful not to get a blue ray dvd cleaner... watch label).

If cleaning lens does not work, go back into dvd player and adjust the speed ever so slightly... see if the reading comes back.

This could be a bad disc, if you have tried to insert other disks and it comes up with the same result it could be a hardware or software or lens issue
