Lost the tiny spring for the home button cable

I'm repairing a 5s and I lost the spring for the one screw holding the home button cable to the assembly. How critical is this piece to the proper functioning of the phone? Thanks.

That is not critical. As long as you have 2 screws to hold the home button back-support plate, you are absolutely fine my friend. Do not get panic. Just seat it carefully and you are all good to get back to the job.
