The unit does not cook
when starting the unit the light comes on and the timer starts, but the table does not turn and the fan and cooking mechanism does not start.

Hey John, if I were you, I would rethink about repairing this microwave because it isn't really recommended by a couple of users. However, if you still want to give it a try, you could start by replacing the turnable motor and try to follow this guide since the turnable motors are usually located where this guide shows.

Take cover off and check thermostat connections. Probably burnt looking. Cheap repair.
