Acer 5735z not powering on, no fan movement, RAM is fine.

Hi! My Acer 5735z will not power on.

I have tried:

Removing and reseating the CPU Battery

Removing the RAM

Applying pressure to the GPU

The main Battery is fine, charger is fine, the fans don't move, upon powering the screen gives no indication of booting, no noises are made, the only thing that happens is the power light comes on, it stays on for about a minute then switches itself off, during that time the power light will flash about 4 times.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I have some thermal paste ordered and will post my results once I have removed, cleaned and reseated the heatsinks with new paste.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

How do you know the RAM is fine?

by

I checked the RAM by taking each stick out and trying to power it on with each stick and tried to power on without the RAM atall, my results did not change.

UPDATE: I have tried new Thermal Paste and it made no difference whatsoever.

Tommy Mc, check your power adapter. If it does not supply the proper power, your battery will not charge. Therefore your result will be the same with or without battery. So, check your power supply and then your DC power jack.

Are you certain that the power adapter is working fine? If you have access to a multimeter, it should be measuring around 19-20.5V.

The service manual seems to indicate that 4 flashes means the battery is critically low.
