batteries fail to charge after replacement - did I damage something?

posted a question about battery problems but in generic

iphone section - figured it's be better under iphone 5S -

title is

5S batteries fail quickly, gas gauge stuck, reboot - what to fix?

wont let me repost so thats where it can be found if you have specific info on 5S battery problems!

basically phone can't check battery temperature or gas gauge (system log errors), charge indicator never changes actual %age; display indicates batteries are charging but they don't. ibackupbot program show 0 cycles which cant be right. any ideas?

can you give me an idea of what a fair price would be to fix these little capacitors if that is all that was wrong?

$50+. Without good photos I can't tell you anything for sure.

I just answered a similar question -- sounds like you damaged the filter and/or capacitor in the gas gauge circuit on the logic board. Fairly common issue when replacing batteries. These are very very small 01005 packages with tight clearance... It will require specialty equipment to repair. If you don't feel up to it/don't want to invest in the equipment/value the phone a lot, I'm willing to take it and I'm sure Jessa is too.
