5S batteries fail quickly, gas gauge stuck, reboot - what to fix?
original battery needed replacing in wifes phone, but several ebay bought batteries not good -all had small charge level in them and phone would start up, but quickly failed. messed up original battery having to pry it out since sticky tape broke in phone, but it still worked for a while longer. . Found IbackupBot.com and downloaded to check battery cycle count (suspecting batteries were junk)- reported all have ZERo cycles; system log reports shown in same program all show every 5 secs two errors - something like (these are not my exact log file lines)
iPhone CLTM[14] <Error>: CLTM: Could not get event from temperature service
iPhone CLTM[14] <Error>: CLTM: Could not get value for gas gauge battery
iPhone com.apple.AppleHDQGasGauge[14] <Error>: gasgauge: SWI line low issuing reset
Phone would turn on, but soon reboot; one battery causes BSOD and reboot. % charge in battery icon was stuck at different %ages for all batteries, might change at each reboot but never wnet up or down - even though indicator showed they were charging. All batteries now all dead and phone wont turn on even when plugged in - pc does not recognize "dead" phone. unfortunately i didnt find ifixit in time - I have ordered an ifixit 5S battery but I suspect that is not my main problem now! any hints as to what might be wrong would be appreciated!
Is this a good question?

you are probably right - looking at the capacitors? on the board just above the battery connector with a magnifying glass I can just see that it looks like the left three may be missing - cant see any silver there like I can with the set of three close together on the right, and the single on enext to it. bummer!

Yup, sounds like them. They can still be replaced and that new battery you ordered can be put to use!
