Proximity sensor not working

After screen replacement the proximity sensor is not working. The sensor hold is properly in place, the rubber sensor cover is on and the cables are not torn. Any idea how to fix this?

Answer this question I have this problem too

There may be damage to the cable that is not visible to the naked eye. I would recommend changing the sensor/cable.

I have this issue and have replaced the cable and it still does not work. Any suggestions now? THanks.

You could try a different screen. Sometimes the glass can interfere with the light getting to the sensor. It seemed to be more of a problem with the iPhone 4, but it's a possibility.

Thanks, but I would rather not have to test this out by purchasing an entirely new LCD again. Any other thoughts?

Do you still have the broken screen? If it's functional, you can try putting the broken screen back on, and see if the sensor works then. That will confirm if it's the screen.
