Can I put the logicboard from this device in my cellular version.

I have an iPad 3 16gb at&t that will not restore.It says the bassband chip is preventing restore. Error 1 . The log file mentions bassband chip. The iPad was slammed down and needed repairs. Worked great before I tried to update it though. Now it's stuck in restore loop. Gets all the way to verifying and then crashes. I've already spent time and money in replacing LCD, Screen, and rear housing. I'd rather get a new logic board than write it off. I mean with all the time and money spent. Then I can give my 2nd gen to my daughter.

I have located a logic board that is 64gb wifi only. Can i install the wifi logic board or does it have to be a cellular version? I've also located a cellular version, but the cellular isn't even needed and the wifi version is half the price....

Answer: No, you wan't be able to achieve that goal.

Solution : you can use portable WiFi device with you.

You may want to reread the question... He's asking if he can put a Wifi only logic board into a wifi/ cellular housing. I'm pretty sure the answer is yes. There will be a few connections leftover (sim card slot and 3g antenna but other than that everything else should fit.

You didn't really read the question. I'm not trying to get a wifi ipad to get mobile data. I am trying asking if I can replace the logicboard in my broken cellular ipad with a wifi only one... because it's half the price of the cellular one.
