"none the software tricks", that's pretty arrogant considering the company you're in. "Viper"

Did you try pushing the mouse button during startup?

Off course you've tried all the terminal eject commands?

If you say that you have tried all the software tricks, then the only possible way to get the cd out would be by opening your machine and Optical Drive. You can always try other methods, but most would damage the CD in the process. What kind of Mac do u have?

Hi!

There are many different ways to do this, and some may be more or less relevant depending on what type of Mac you have. Rebooting and holding down the eject or F12 key can do the trick, as can holding down the mouse button of your wired mouse while the computer reboots (you want it down before the "dong" sound). A couple more serious ways to do this can be found here:

If you have a 17" laptop that's been subjected to a serious whack on the front right corner, the frame of the machine may be bent such that the drive can no longer eject a disk. If this is the case, I've been successful hanging the bent corner off a table and pushing on the diagonal ends to flex it back straight, then having someone else hit the eject button.

Good luck!
