Mac Mini 2012 Dual ssd question

I saw someone post a video to youtube that showed the read/write speeds he was getting with a dual ssd setup on his 2012 mac mini. He was getting over 900mbs on both.

I haven't seen a guide for setting up dual ssd's.

Does anyone know how to do it, or has anyone seen a guide for this? I know the install is the same as a standard dual hdd install in these, but I figure the setup after you get it back together may be different. Thanks!

Just so we're clear here: 900 Mega bits per second equals 112.5 Mega Bytes per second. A single SATA III interface offers 6.0 Giga bits per second. While a SSD is faster than a HD you are still limited by the given systems internal limitations above what the SATA I/O could offer.

Thank you Dan.

So, I can install two SSD's. I'm not worried about the hardware side of it, but I need help with the software side.

What software side?? All you need to do is just partition & format the drive using Disk Utility. You'll need to explain what you are thinking here.

I'm not familiar with setting up Raid configurations. I saw a couple online and I want to build that. I just want to know how to go about setup after the drives are installed. How will the operating system be installed, do the two drives act as one, etc. Sorry if I'm bothering you, I appreciate your help.

To add in a second drive (SSD in your case) follow this IFIXIT guide: Installing Mac Mini Late 2012 Dual Hard Drive Kit.
