Using a screen from 2009 17" MacBook Pro on a 2011

I have got a 2011 17" macbook pro with a broken "glossy" type screen. I also have a "matte" type display from my old 2009 macbook pro 17". Would the matte display work on the newer 2011 model of Macbook Pro?

LCD by itself - yes

Display assembly in its entirety - no.

The LCD is the same, but the assembly uses different webcam, wifi, etc.
