Screen Just Went Blank/Black?

Hi,

My iPhone 5 has just developed a fault. The screen has just went completely blank and is black.

The phone makes a noise when it is plugged into the mains to charge, and also when I press the power and home button at the same time to take what would normally be a screen shot. It also vibrates when I put the phone in silent mode.

I initially thought it may be the screen so replaced this as I knew what I was doing as I've replaced quite a few iPhone screens.

I've tried holding the power and home button at the same time but nothing happens, also tried this along with the volume down button. I have restored the phone in iTunes as well but this hasn't resolved the problem either.

Any help with this would be great.

Thanks

Hi,

Thanks for the quick response. Yes, I held both buttons at the same time for up to 30 seconds, but this didn't do anything.

What connectors should I be looking at and are they repairable? I just don't understand how it could be working one minute and then not the next? It wasn't dropped or anywhere near water.

Did you actually hold the power and home at the same time for 10 seconds? It's not a quick thing, but needs to be held for 10 seconds (or close to it). If that still doesn't reset it, and you have replaced the LCD, then you're looking at a bad connector or bad chip on the board.
