Keys must be held down to work

The keyboard of my macbook 13" penryn early 2008 Dual core 2 duo is globally unresponsive.

- Most keys only work if held down for a few seconds.

Interestingly, after holding the a key down, for a few more seconds, the key responds pretty much normally, before becoming again unresponsive to normal touch again a few seconds later.

- Some other keys work fine (e.g. delete)

If using an external keyboard, it works fine.

There was no liquid or other damage to the unit

The key switches in the MacBooks do break down with age and lots of use.

Luckily, replacing the uppercase is a very easy fix! Here's the IFIXIT guide: MacBook Core 2 Duo Upper Case Replacement. I do recommend you stick with a new case Vs a used one.

Thanks for answer. I was hoping that the issue could be due to a cable, or maybe some dirt causing connection troubles as the issue affects pretty much all keys in the same manner.

I understand your solution and appreciate it, thanks !
