The home button is not working properly

I think the diaphragm (if there is one) has worn out.

My iphone is 8Gb and 2 years old (bought Aug2008?)

It is not practical to send back for repair and I want to do it myself.

What do I need and how do I do it????

Many thanks,

Andrew MacArthur

Do you have a link to parts and instructions for iPhone 4g?

Thanks

click on the photo of the phone, choose the 4g, guides, dock/home button. Not sure it is sold here... google.

I might be splitting hairs here, but there is no such thing as an iPhone 4G. We have guides for both the CDMA and GSM iPhone 4, and you can bet that iPhone 4S guides will be up before too long.

I'm guessing you have an iPhone 3G. Just to make sure though, you should use our ID-your-iPhone tool.

Assuming that you do have an iPhone 3G, the parts you'll need to do the replacement are here and you can click here to find our guide on how to do the repairs yourself.

If you find out you have something other than an iPhone 3G, please let us know and we'll try to point you in the right direction, otherwise, please come back and accept this answer.

Happy fixing! :)

I know nothing of the iphone4. I still have my iphone3, the home-button problems disappeared. the phone is now 3years 3months old and working fine. I am very happy with it.
