The only button that works is the 30 second timer
my microwave only works when i push the 30 second timer button. otherwise i have to turn it off and repush the 30 second button again.

Touchpad
If the microwave buttons don't work the touchpad might be at fault. Generally speaking, if the dishwasher display is working and some of the buttons respond correctly but some don’t, the problem is with the touchpad.
User Control and Display Board
If the microwave buttons don't work the user control and display board are most likely defective and will need to be replaced. If some of the buttons work and some don't, it is more likely a touch pad problem and the touch pad will need to be replaced.
Main Control Board
If the microwave buttons don't work the main control board is most likely defective and will need to be replaced. If some of the buttons work the touch pad is likely the problem. If none of the buttons work the problem may be in the main control board.

It works off & on by turning off the power & back on but then it locks up again
It keeps locking up & won't unlock by holding start every time. Then when the power is disconnected it comes back on & works for a minute & then locks back up repeatedly.
