Cannot connect to Wifi without Ethernet cable

Troubleshooting comes up with "a network cable is not properly plugged in or may be broken". I've tried disabling and re-enabling the driver.. Didn't help. I tried updating the driver.. Didn't help (says it's updated). It's weird but every once in a blue moon I'll be able to use the wifi and it'll connect automatically but then if the computer goes to sleep or if I shut it down/restart it's gone again. Extremely frustrating!!! Please help!?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Ethernet and WiFi functions separately in the logic board. you can troubleshoot the WiFi connectivity as bellow

1) update the windows

2) if you running latest version of windows updates try to uninstall the updates and try

(most probably your problem should solve, if not

3) try via live CD such as kubuntu/ ubuntu to check your hardware stability. if yes

4) re-install the windows

5) in No : Change the WiFi card : it is not hard work. just like RAM update :-)
