salvaged hdd from spill is it likely anything else can be saved?

A friends macbook was damaged at my house. I bought her a replacement and apple store moved all data from old hdd onto new computer. I would like to salvage old computer. Hdd was ok, but it would not turn on (battery or cord). When spill happened (lemonade) I turned off and thought I dried (just keyboard). My bad, I turned back on.

It powered up for about 2 seconds then went blackscreen. I assumed completely fried, but HDD totally recovered. So hope! Apple wants to send out and charge $750. I could get used one for that.

Given circumstances, what else do you think could be salvaged? What else is likely damaged? Debating on fix, but if it's likely junk, maybe I could try a few cheap fixes myself? Just hate to throw away.

Any insight would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!
