Ink dries semi-wet where the printheads makes electrical contact.

hello,

when my c4780 broke for the 4th or 5th time, I was given a 107.00 code for HP direct to spend on something from them so i put it towards a new printer hoping it be better,But its exactly the opposite of what i was hoping for.

When i was cleaning the printhead(with the cleaning rate it gets VERY dirty) and found the ink stain that can be wiped but it would get REAL annoying REAL quick doing this)

p.s. my camera(video) works but needs light and cannot go super close in macro) == Update ==

can someine help me out to prevent this mess?

update 2

i tried the black cartridge on my dads photosmart c6380 and i got results and also i got results with the 4 colors

If you got the printer brand new and it's leaking ink, my guess is that it must be defective in some way. Printers definitely are not supposed to leak ink. I would send it back and get a new one that's not leaking, as you shouldn't have to be doing repairs on a brand new device to make it work as intended. Hopefully HP will replace the printhead and not just throw the whole thing in a landfill.

I agree. Hopefully it's just a problem with your particular printer. If not, then now you know to buy Brother printers!

I seem to recall the OP uses refilled cartridges (refills them himself). Nothing wrong in that--you can save money but I can't tell you how many times a customer would have to buy a new unit because of ink damage. What I'm leading to is asking the OP are you using original cartridges or refills?

That eliminates one possibility. At this point I would follow Taylors advice. Ralph
