Have I damaged the usb connector or the motherboard?

Hi,

I was changing the battery the other day, it was stuck. So when i used more force to take it out, the battery made some sparks.

Then the charger (usb) worked for 2 mins and now it doesnt charge/sync/indicate that usb is connected.

The phone works fine when i put a charged battery, but the battery doesnt charge.

So is there a way to know if i have damaged the usb connector logic or the motherboard?
