Red/Reddish glow on screen

My phone 5S has a red glow. Not the entire screen though, just a perfectly shaped, perfectly centered box about the size of an iPhone 4 screen.

It's completely transparent and the screen works perfectly except that. It's like in Photoshop having a white background and a 10% red filled box in the middle. Very awkward.

It's pretty hard to see during normal use, but now I know it's there it definitely shows - definitely on apps with white background.

Sidenote: the phone is a 2nd hand one, so I wouldn't know whether it has an aftermarket screen. I also don't know for sure whether it had the problem before or not during the 1+ year I had it.

Answer this question I have this problem too

At first I had this same exact problem where my phone would look like it was evil with this red glow but still worked. At first, I thought it was the proximity sensor on the front camera flex which it may be for you but it wasn’t for me and I even tried connecting it to iTunes and updating and restoring the iPhone thinking it was a hardware issue but that did not seem to be the case. What worked for me was replacing the whole lcd screen, something with the connection cables of the screen must have been causing this problem and switching out the lcd screen fixed this problem.

Chinese screens sometimes have a blue/purple haze like you've described, not seen a red one though.

Ahh. That's definitely an LCD fault.
