What is this loose part which was rattling in my Mac mini?

My Mac mini was rattling with a loose part. I used the guide to open it up and found the culprit. I don't know where it goes. It is small like the size of a safety pin and 28mm in length and 5mm width and is metallic with two legs widening out and a flat headed top bending up like a contact. Please help.

It looks a bit like an led component without the LED.

While hard to see I think you found the power supply clip. Here's a better image of it and where it's located: Power Supply clip.

Follow this IFIXIT guide to get to it: Mac Mini Mid 2010 Power Supply Replacement. You'll need to get to Step 22 in taking the mini apart, then reverse from there.

That part holds the female Power Adapter in place inside of the Mac Mini. Technically it just locks it in place as the adapter is held in place by tension.

It's really a not needed part.
