Water damage

I just spilled water on my late 2013 Mac Book Pro 15" Retina. The samsung SSD failed. I took apart the computer and saw where the water shorted out the drive, there appears to be some burnt solders. Every thing else works on the computer, I am able to start up using command+r and enter the disk utility. The SSD does not show up in the disk utility.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

What was in the drink? Was it just water?

While your system may appear to be running you may have more damage here! I would recommend you disconnect the charger and if you can open the system up and disconnect the battery ASAP. Keep the system in a cool place to slow down the corrosive effects of what you spilled (refrigerate, don't freeze!) after sealing it in a tight plastic bag until you can get it looked at or are ready to do the needed surgery to fix things.

As to the damage you did find on the SSD. You maybe able to clean things up to recover the data it has on it.

You'll need to get some distilled water (not tap water!) and a good grade of Isopropyl alcohol (85% or better) some cotton swabs (Q-Tips) and a soft toothbrush. Follow this IFIXIT guide to pull your logic board out so you can clean it fully: MacBook Pro 15" Retina Display Mid 2012 Logic Board Replacement.

If the SSD is to far gone you could give either OWC or Transcend a try for a replacement.
