PS3 will not turn on even after trying the safe mode?

My PS3 was working fine, but I wanted to get rid of all my data and did a quick format from restore ps3 system. My ps3 will not come on, the screen says unsupported format. I tried to enter the safe mode by going through the double beep method, but still nothing.
