How to troubleshoot water damage

My iPhone 5s was submerged in water and stopped working. I followed the water damage guides and disassembled the device and cleaned the logic board with alcohol and dried thoroughly. After re-assembly, the device worked perfectly for about a day and then died completely. I then repeated the procedure and also replaced the battery. Unfortunately, I still have a completely dead device that is not even recognized by my computer. How can I troubleshoot the problem?

Hi paul ,

Ok so you have cleaned the board for the most part , more than likely the battery has failed. I would replace the battery as step 1 and see if that solves the issue then we can trouble shoot other problems. Also there may still be some corrosion that formed underneath the motherboard shields and would need to be removed and cleaned with alcohol and a fine brush. They can be removed with a soldering station via heat gun and a little patience and care.

I already replaced the battery but we didn't remove the motherborard shields. I will try that and let you know what I find. Thanks for your help.
