battery life expectancy for used ipad 2

Just bought 40 ipads for resale.I will replace all the digitizers and while its open thought I might replace the batteries but is this necessary?Is there a way to check the battery with some kind of instrument to know the likelihood the batteries will last at least 2 years?

If they are used and you have them open your best bet is to replace the batteries, some may have lots of life left and some may have very little life. You cant really check the life expectancy of a device's battery. Make your customers happy and you will be more likely to get repeat business.

Unless the batteries have been abused I would keep them in and not replace them. The track record on aftermarket batteries is horrible. If you replace all 40 there's a good chance that 10-15 of them will have a sub par/ faulty replacement battery.

If you are replacing all of the digitizers just take some time and test the battery before sealing the ipad back together. Yes it is more time and labor intensive but you will likely find that the original batteries are still fine.

You can find out the remaining capacity of your battery by going into settings-gegeral-about-diagnostics&usage, view the data and check log-aggregated for a entry of com.apple.snapshot.battery.maxCapacity and tell us the number.

On iOS 8, the location is settings-privacy-diags...
