After pressing on/off button hdd and super drive spin but nothin ales

Seems to me I have similar problem

I have this same power supply in 24 inch iMac given to me by my friend.which spend sumach time in loft.

But I can't make iMac boot, symptoms a very much point in power supply

After pressing on/off button hdd and super drive spin but nothin ales. Non off fans working unless I pull off power cord out iMac and put back

Then hdd, super drive, and all funs kick off

I suspect power supply my be faulty.

or if I'm wrong, please point me in the right direction

At this point you'll need to check the built-in diagnostic LED's. Review this IFIXIT guide: Technique: iMac Intel 24" EMC 2134 and 2211 Diagnostic LED's.
