iMac suddenly turned off while loading desktop.

Last night I replaced a defective WD 250GB AAJS hard drive with a WD 500GB AAKS. After re-soldering the drive motor controller on the 250GB (that's the 3rd time I do it, but it only lasts 3-4 days), I was able to clone the OS to the new drive with SuperDuper! (that took 1.5 hour). Everything was working great; I shutdown for the night. This morning I push the button to turn it on, it got to the desktop and was still loading (judgeing from the HDD activity) and it just turned off completely. After that it wouldn't turn on again. I took the bezel off and can see the fans repeatedly trying to spin when I plug it in the wall. Any idea what's going on?

Answer this question I have this problem too

What did the diagnostic LEDs show?

It showed only one LED on, which corresponds to power coming from the 12v power supply. I replaced the board, but would like to fix the old one. I'm thinking the problem is with the BGA chipset, just haven't had much success fix those so far.
