Is it my LCD Digitizer or my glass that needs replacing?
I recently dropped my Samsung Galaxy s5 and it still works correctly it just has a huge crack across the screen. What do I need to get replaced?
Is this a good question?

amagby0, unless you have a LCD separator, I suggest that you replace the complete assembly. Yes, it is way more expensive, but separating the glass/digitizer and LCD is a pretty tough job. Unless you have plenty of practice, it will most likely fail.

oldturkey03 On the Galaxy S3 & Note 2 models and above, separating the glass from the digitizer and LCD assembly is not all that hard, however, for someone who has never done it before it may be very hard.
amagby0 I recommend taking it to a repair shop to get a replacement lens, they will replace the lens, and if they break the LCD in the process then they should be able to replace the screen for the cost of the lens/glass only repair, in return saving you money. They do these repairs a lot, and should be very good at it, when i worked for a repair company we did these all the time and i was able to get them done in under 20 minutes with some practice. I was the lead tech though, and i did break my fair share learning the best way to teach my other techs, and when we broke the screen we replaced the assembly for the cost of the glass only repair.
