New charged battery went dead when iPhone is in use

Hi,This iPhone 3G was completely dead,I used itunes to restore it,and it worked again but the battery went dead quickly,I replace it with a new one,even though the iPhone shows the batteries(the old & new one)were fully charged but the problem persist.Thanks for your help

maybe it's the docking port. if the dock isn't seated right or is broken then no charge gets to your new battery (or the old one!) i had same problem, changed the dock assembly and hey presto!
