My screen isn't cracked but it isn't working properly...

I have an iPhone 5 with the glass display that isn't cracked or damaged in any way but it won't function properly. Do i need the Display assembly or is it the front panel that i need/problem? Cause i already have the glass, camera, home button, etc, etc.

And what exactly is the difference between the two operational wise?

If you have the full assembly with camera and home button built in then that's all you need
