MacBook Air Error installing OS-X

My Macbook air gives me a error and it keeps saying to try the installation again, it keeps doing the same thing... tried to install leopard, snow leopard and even lion and none of those attempts work!

Can you give us your systems serial number so we can identify which model you have.

also want to add that i tried installing OSx from an external dvd and at some point it lets format the hard drive and lets me do whatever needs to be done at the disk utility screen and when its ready to install the software the installation stops

I suspect your HD is going. You'll need to run a better HD diagnostics on the drive to be sure. I would recommend getting Drive Genius 3 as it can also do a deeper reformat as well

ok thanks so much do you think i should try to get a new hard d rive since the one i got i bought it from amazon and chances are is not good

Was this a new drive or used? It's possible the drive is bad. It could also be a bad low level format DG can fix. Either way is a gamble.
