Problems installing OS X

Hello,

I've got a little problem with my Power Mac G5. First i had problems with the pc booting. It froze everytime at the logo. So I thought it would be a good idea to format the hdd (I didn't have any important files on it anyway) and install mac os x 10.3.5 on it. So first of all I took out the hdd connected it to my other pc and formatted the hdd. After that I put it back in and booted the pc from the installation disc. After booting from the disc the apple logo showd and it took me to the installation window and gave me the option to select the prefered language. After which i took me to the installment introduction.

And at that point I couldn't do anything really. It says I should hit go to go to the next step or hit cancel if I wanted to do that. But somehow I can't click on any of those. The only thing it keeps showing me is "reading packages" and a loading wheel that keeps turning. But even after waiting for quite a while it won't let go to the next step. The mac also goes "wild" after a few minutes: the fans all go to their maximum and well turn my mac into a leaf blower!

Anyone an idea on how I can fix this problem?

You hard drive could be going bad. You should use disk utilities to check your hard drive.

Ohke thanks, but how do I do that? (Sorry I'm a noob when it comes to apple products..) I know how you run disk utilities, but the problem is I can't run disk utilities as there's current no OS on the hdd. I also don't own any other apple products besides this powermac. Is running a sort of disk utilities also possible by putting the hdd in a system running windows 8.1?

Thanks in advance!
