RAM maxing issue

Hi! This is super cool. I have the Unibody Macbook model just previous to this (late-2009) and tried to max it out to 16GB (I currently have it running on 8GB, very nicely for the past few years).

It didn't work. What do I need to replace in it to make it work - because I know that the Mid-2010 model can be maxed out to 16GB.

I know this post is old...but any help would be awesome.

THanks!

No can do - If you have 8GB in it it's only accessing using 6GB.

Apple officially supports a maximum of 4 GB of RAM but third-parties have been able to upgrade the system to 6 GB of RAM using one 2 GB and one 4 GB memory module.
