A tested a functioning touch screen not responding to touch.

Hello,

My father was working on fixing up an iphone 5 he purchased form ebay before passing away. So I have taken it upon myself to finish the job.

So here is the information:

- Touch screen does not respond to any touch anywhere on the screen.

- I have made sure the connections are clicked in properly.

- The screen is fine, as I have tested it on another phone.

- There is a dent on the logic board metal casing, where I believe the touch IC should be.

- Possibly water damaged, but I do not know for sure.

Could there be any other reasons the touch is not working?

Is the touch IC a difficult repair? I am struggling to find videos for this.

Many thanks,

Craig

Touch ID is on the 5S. Is it a 5S?

TouchID cannot be replaced on iPhone 5S. It has to be the same sensor. If it is not, it will not work as they are paired up to that iPhone.

I am having a similar problem with the iPhone 5 in regard to touch.

If you mean digitizer, it is very hard to change, the glass is glued and needs to be pulled off the LCD. I destroyed an LCD that way.

Alex he said touch ic not id..

And if touch wasn't going would it not have been easier to buy a full display instead of taking glass off which is more or less impossible unless you have a glass separater
