iPhone 5 weird signal issue on ios 8.1

I got my iPhone 5 unlocked from orange France portal but issue is that it is now showing "no service" and also no "carrier" option is shown in settings. Please anyone tell me is that a software issue or a hardware??? following pictures show you that my phone was unlocked and what my settings show. Kindly confirm is that an hardware issue?????

note: i have no prior usage experience of this phone so don't ask was it working before unlock!!! secondly i am not in France nor i can take it to any apple store. Kindly help if you can.

Options

Right now you have a iPhone that does not have a working SIM. You'll need to bring your phone to the carrier with which you have service to get a new SIM.

its factory unlocked and sim is working on other phones.

Then you'll need to look up your phone and the carriers service specs as you may have a phone which is not compatible with the carriers signals. Remember there are a few different iPhone 5 units which look almost the same but are setup for different carriers (CDMA vs GSM and bands it uses - frequency)
