Samsung Notebook NP300E5A was infected with ransomware. I am trying to solve problem with HitmanPro.Kickstart installed on a flashdrive but can't seen to get to a boot menue where I can select this option. Help please?

Hold F10 + press release power button, in BIOS select the option to fast boot disabled.

HI Ella, you can boot on penrive with two ways:
(Remeber make a bootable USB flash drive when make HitmanPro.Kikstart)
Select booting:
- At notebook power off insert your pen drive in usb port
- Power on your laptop
- Press the Boot Menu Key, usually Esc or F12 when the display starts or when you see Samsung Logo
- Select USB-HDD or The name of PenDrive
Select Bootlist:
The samsung notebook going to bios with push F2 button at power on while you see SAMSUNG LOGO.
Use the right arrow to move menu in BOOT , and select the pendrive with first boot and secondo boot the hdd

I just got a Samsung NP-N210 that's stuck at the password prompt. I can't get to BIOS, period. I can't get to setup, period. I can't make it start up from an install DVD, USB or any other alphabet drive you care to mention. Seems like the password must be a BIOS one, otherwise I could just replace the hard drive. Some video said you can just hit escape a hundred times and overload the buffer memory... but the mouse is recognized (which I don't even have hooked up to it) and I haven't touched anything but switch-on and the esc button... maybe I didn't hit Escape fast enough... But I'm wondering how Escape isn't considered part of the keyboard. ... It's almost enough to make me run screaming back to Apple... and then falling to my knees and begging their forgiveness. Because I've NEVER had this problem with a Mac. Just shove in a DVD/CD install disk and all things are solved. I guess I got lazy or was just plain lucky.
Now I'm trying to find out if it's got a jumper-block to remove or a CMOS battery to detach. I totally sympathize with the OP.

Bump to old question.
I had the same problem with my old Samsung NP300E5X (NP300) (BIOS version P07RAC). I have changed something in BIOS (I guess something to do with secure boot or UEFI, anyway I don't know what's the difference, sorry) and it was impossible to enter to BIOS by F2 button.

Problems were like:
 - you can't enter to BIOS by pressing F2, but you can enter Windows Recovery Mode (F4 or F10, nothing interesting here to solve the issue),
 - you can't update BIOS by Samsung BIOS update utility, because you have already got the latest version (utility stops working saying this),
- shorting RTC reset, BIOS crisis contacts gives no effect (contacts next to RAM on the motherboard),
- external USB-keyboard gives no effect,
 - if you disconnect any HDD - your notebook is just stuck in endless bootloop (you see Samsung logo-F2-for-BIOS-F4-for-Recovery, 3-2-1, reboot). No way you can enter BIOS here.

What your aim should be: **to reset all BIOS settings to default**. We are going to reflash the same version P07RAC, but without Samsung BIOS update utility.

1)           Open the BIOS update tool from Samsung. Click on «Download» instead of «Update». It offered "ITEM_20130402_1070_WIN_P05RAJ.exe" (I don't know, why there is "RAJ" not "RAC", but this is for NP300E5). If you have a different notebook, the file name should be something like that, so, keep Googling your needed «ITEM_..._version.exe».
2) Run the file "ITEM_20130402_1070_WIN_P05RAJ.exe". The program decompresses several files to "C:\Users\<myuser>\AppData\Local\Temp\__Samsung_Update" The program refuses to update the BIOS because it is the latest version, and then deletes the files. I copied the files before closing the program. They contain the ROM and the SFlash64.exe utility, and some other files required for flashing.

3) Run cmd.exe as an Administrator and run this exe from copied files **SFlash64 /n /s /sa /ips /exit /file P07RAC.rom** (notice, here "P07RAC" not "P05RAJ). Also, you may check "SFlash64 -help" for help.
This will flash over the BIOS with the same version resetting all settings.
So, you can enter BIOS by F2 button as normally.

Thanks this saved me hours.. It worked now I can install as may Linux as I want with dual boot.
This is the answer, excepting the possibility of different .ROM file name. I also had to do it in Windows 7, not 10 or 11. Thanks so much!
Brother we have to enter this whole command "SFlash64 /n /s /sa /ips /exit /file P07RAC.rom" please clarify me....I am getting an error "error 207 - failed to merge bcps! Status = 14." .....any help from your side would be appreciated
@jaskaransi23169 hello, sorry, but I can't help you. Are you sure, that you have all correct files and versions eligible for you notebook model? Maybe you have another notebook model? This is the only working way to reflash your BIOS, so, keep googling this error...
@jaskaransi23169 also check that you have a correct folder address in the cmd.exe, when you are executing "SFlash64 /n /s /sa /ips /exit /file P07RAC.rom". You cmd.exe session must be inside a folder with SFlash64 utility. Use command "cd" (change directory) to get your cmd.exe session inside the correct directory before executing "SFlash64...".

I also have a Samsung laptop (QX412), and I'm trying to get into boot menu. F12 does nothing.
F8 displays:

Enter=Submit, Esc=Cancel

I can select the primary boot drive in the bios, but last time I did that (on another laptop) it messed up my HDD. So would rather just select a temp boot device than change the default.
Also, not sure which is the right usb to select...

On my Samsung Notebook, the two on the right are non-charging USB ports. I have an HP mini 110 that doesn't recognize the left USB, but installed ElementaryOS just fine from one of the right USB ports... so I sorta had a head's up.
... and you're right about the default option being iffy. If you change it and something goes wrong, how do you get back to the original boot?

Upon powering on the laptop, press F10
Select the option to modify the BIOS settings
Go to the Boot Options screen
Set Secure Boot to Disabled
Set BIOS mode to UEFI and Legacy or CSM and UEFI OS
Save settings and reboot
When the Samsung screen comes up again, press F10
With certain Samsung notebooks (like the 300E) holding F3 during boot will bring up the Boot from Disc option.

i have done all of this and nothing works. i have even pulled my CMOS battery for 2 weeks intalled a new HDD and new ram nothing. cant get BIOS menu. cant get boot menu
F10 give me boot to ubuntu but it wont do that either

Well that's good to know... I won't have to waste time looking for a CMOS battery that doesn't show up in the pics. I did see a pic that looked like mine might have that jumper-block thingy... so I'll still have to pull it apart. Or maybe it's on the backside of the motherboard... Seems like a BIOS password... needs cracking?

this was hard for me. i learned that my NP305V5A had to be plugged in. Then, once i pressed the power button and saw the backlight of the screen turn on, i pressed (and immediately released) ESC just one time. I realized that if I pressed it multiple times, it would flash the blue startup screen for a split second, then "Escape" back to startup.

To get into my Samsung Laptop BIOS setup:
remove battery
open case (lots of screws)
pull connector off of hard drive to completely disconnect it
Connect AC power with laptop case still open
press power button & press F2 (maybe multiple times)
make your changes & save changes before leaving bios
turn off laptop, reconnect hard drive, screw case back on, put battery back on
use laptop normally

How about downloading the firmware for the system on another computer, create a boot disk/usb copying the flash software and firmware onto it, reboot you system with the new disk/usb inserted and then run the flash software and reflash the system BIOS, Reboot and see if you can access the BIOS menu.

UPDATE: I had a ѕіmіlаr issue, couldn’t get to BIOS menu on my Samsung Notebook fоr оvеr two weeks.
