Why is the saw overheating?

The saw tends to overheat frequently and the motor makes a weird humming sound. What can be done to prevent the overheating?

Depending on the age, rebuilding/replacing the bearings or arbor... getting a different saw.

Check the electrical cord. make sure there are no broken strands at either in where it attaches to the drill or at the outlet. Make sure you are plugging it into an outlet that is not loose.
