Mac mini with 256GB SSD Upgrade with HDD possible?

I want a Mac mini with 256 GB SSD Buying. and this upgrade later with a HDD. Is that possible? And how high must be the HDD?

While past Mac Minis have featured two SATA ports, allowing users to upgrade their base model with an extra hard drive, this year we only get one.

However, this empty socket over here may well be a spot for a PCIe cable, enabling the installation of a blade SSD.

More on this once we get our hands on a Fusion-equipped Mac Mini.

the hdd in the device is 7mm.

but is compatible with a 9.5mm drive.

fusion drive come with a 128g pcie x2 ssd and a 9.5mm hdd.

Would also love to know if a 9,5mm thick hdd would fit in the new Mac Mini's then i could install a 2TB version instead of a 1TB

I can confirm the bay supports up to 9.5mm. As I ibetalled a WD 750gb in my Mac mini today.
