Broken Screen/Home Button - Photo Recovery!

Hi there,

Unfortunately my wife's 4S went through the washer (very briefly, but clearly too long), and when it came out the screen and home button were not responsive.

The phone is fully functional otherwise (receives texts/calls/mounts when plugged into a PC), but we cannot figure out how to recover the photos from the device as there is a lock screen present and we're unable to 'unlock' it to transfer to a computer...

Does anyone have any advice? This was never hooked into iTunes, so whenever we mount it to a computer (Win7/linux) we need to unlock/trust the device before we're allowed to browse it's file system which is clearly impossible in it's current state.

Is there a way to get around this?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

I'm assuming that replacing the screen and/or home button would allow me to get around this (obviously), but I'm looking for something I can do immediately if at all possible.

If you have iCloud backup enabled, your photo are safe.

If not, your only hope is to repair the phone to enable access. It is impossible to load the file system any other way because the entire disk is encrypted using multiple keys, including your passcode.
