Damaged display

My LCD Panel tore in the lower right corner (diagonally). It is functional in the rest of the display. Can I modify the display to only use the remain section (programmatically)? That is, project the image to a smaller area of the LCD.

Ouch!

Sadly there is no real way to alter the image area so only a section of the LCD is used for the desktop. But you can leverage the given applications window so its over to one side. From what you describe that is not what you want.

Your other alternative here is to use an external monitor until you can get your system repaired.
