Do I need to replace the battery?

while listening to music with my aux cord connected to my iphone it suddenly made noise & as I looked at my phone it started to fade to black. The battery was fully charged and nothing seemed to be wrong with the phone until then. I tried resetting with charger & using iTunes, but still nothing. Could it possibly mean I just need a battery replacement? I have a iphone 4 8gb A1349 model.

Amber I would try a battery first it's not uncommon for this to happen and a new battery will kick it back into action..
